To synthesize, to create consilience, is as valuable as coming up with a great new idea. In fact, very often the act of creating consilience powers great insights, those "Oh how obvious!" moments that galvanize lives.
Imagine how much easier it is now to target disease research when only 68 molecules need to be taken into acount as base factors. Not hundreds or thousands, but only 68. And that by focusing on just those 68, any disease or biochemical research can be brought to bear on the problem at hand. Instead of millions of targets and thousands of unknown tools, We know have 68 targets and thousands of known tools. That sounds like the formula for a brighter future.
