And yet We turn millions of tons of corn into an amount of ethanol that barely fills the tanks of a couple of million cars... Yes, food is badly distributed. Isn't that something We can fix?

Unfortunately, it isn't. My Special Friend just got back from a medical mission on the Dominican Republic/Haiti border and saw several vendors of mud cakes and "galletas" --cookies--prepared in the same way. The despair and suffering there are largely unknown, but it is tragically real.
